BRIAN JAMIESON

PARTNER (MEMBER)

Head of Private Client Services and Lead Partner - Ellon Office

Brian joined the Firm in 1990 after completing his traineeship and gaining experience as an assistant with other legal firms. He became a Partner in 1992 and has headed up our Ellon office since it opened in 1995.

Brian provides a comprehensive Private client service for his clients including Residential and Commercial sales and Purchases, Conveyancing, Remortgages, Executries, Wills and Succession Planning as well as general private client work. Brian is also able to provide advice on Separation and Divorce.

JANE DICKERS

PARTNER (MEMBER)

Head of Court Department and Lead Partner - Peterhead Office

Jane is a Partner / Member in the Court Department, based at our Peterhead office. She joined the firm as an Associate in April 2014, having previously practised as a partner in an Aberdeen-based firm. She qualified as a Scottish solicitor in 2011.

Jane predominantly works with our Legal Aid client base. She has conducted a wide range of criminal cases in Sheriff Courts across the North of Scotland and the Islands. She regularly instructs Counsel in high profile cases in the High Court of Justiciary.

Equally at home in the civil courts, Jane can assist clients with a range of matrimonial and family court issues, including Divorce, Separation, Contact and Residence matters. She also manages a general civil litigation caseload and is often instructed by other Firms of solicitors to assist them with cases in Peterhead.

Jane is registered to provide Children’s Legal Aid and appears regularly for clients at Children’s Hearings in both Aberdeen City and the Shire. She is one of only a handful of solicitors in the North-East who can act as a Children’s Duty Solicitor

ANDREW ORMISTON

PARTNER (MEMBER)

CRIMINAL LAW SPECIALIST

Andrew began his legal career with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service. After successfully completing his traineeship with the Service he was commissioned as a Procurator Fiscal Depute for the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands. During his time with COPFS Andrew was assigned to assist the Principal Advocate Depute and gained experience preparing criminal cases at the highest level. Andrew thereafter entered private practice as a specialist criminal defence lawyer and joined Gray & Gray as an Associate in January 2016. Andrew was assumed as a Partner / Member in November 2016.

Andrew manages a busy criminal caseload, dealing with both Summary and Solemn cases. He also has expertise in human rights issues and parole matters. In addition Andrew can provide help and advice in respect of legal issues relating to mental health.

Andrew will be assisting our other Court practitioners in the Civil and Family Courts. He is able to represent both those clients who require Legal Aid and those who pay privately for our services.

CHRISTOPHER GALLON

NON-SOLICITOR LEGAL CONSULTANT

Chris commenced his legal career with the Firm as an apprentice solicitor in August 1979. He became a Partner in the Firm in 1984 and has seen the changing face of the legal system throughout that time and retired as a solicitor at the end of October 2017.

Chris previously specialised in all aspects of Private client work. Areas of work include, Residential Property sales, Purchases and Remortgages, Commercial and Development Property sales, Securities, Leasing, Company and Partnerships, Wills, Succession Planning, Powers of Attorney under Adults with Incapacity Act, Executries and Employment Law.

Chris remains an important part of the Gray & Gray team providing a valuable ‘signposting’ role to clients and guidance to other members of staff

SUSAN DURRANT

PROPERTY MANAGERESS

Susan joined Gray & Gray in 2013 and has an extensive local knowledge of the area, having moved from Glasgow over 40 years ago and worked in a number of local businesses.

Handling all aspects of residential sales, from valuations to negotiating sales in our Peterhead and Ellon offices.

Susan can offer a comprehensive service supporting all your property needs with a personal touch.

SARAH MCPHERSON

SOLICITOR

COURT TEAM

Originally from Dundee, Sarah gained her legal qualifications from the University of Aberdeen. After spending two years working with a medium sized firm in Edinburgh, Sarah commenced her traineeship with a local Peterhead firm before joining Gray & Gray in April 2016.

Sarah is based in our Peterhead office within the Court Department and specialises in matrimonial and family law. She advises clients on matters including Separation, Cohabitation, Divorce, Child Contact and Residence Issues, Adoption and Drafting Minutes of Agreement. She also regularly appears in the Sheriff Court. Although Sarah predominantly works with those clients who pay privately for our services, she is also able to represent those clients who require Legal Aid.

ALAN SIMPSON

TRAINEE SOLICITOR

PRIVATE CLIENT TEAM

Alan is a trainee solicitor based in our Ellon Office. Having gained his legal qualifications from Robert Gordon University, Alan worked with an Aberdeen-based firm prior to joining Gray and Gray as a trainee solicitor in 2017.

Alan can assist our clients in a wide range of private client work including residential conveyancing, preparation of Wills, Power of Attorneys and executory work.

NICOLA REID

TRAINEE SOLICITOR

COURT TEAM

Nicola is a trainee solicitor based in our Peterhead Office. Having gained her legal qualifications from the Robert Gordon University, she joined Gray & Gray in 2017.

Nicola has extensive experience of the criminal justice system and worked previously for a local authority. She will be assisting our Court Department clients with both criminal and civil matters.
